About the AI Hackathon Challenge

This hackathon, themed EdTech (Education Technology), challenges you to design AI-powered solutions that go beyond "basic chatbots". The goal is to reimagine the future of learning by building intelligent systems that act as dynamic learning companions

Your AI solution should:

  • Engage learners in multiple ways. Instead of just text, use voice, visuals, animations, or interactive simulations.

Example: An AI tutor that uses animated diagrams to explain Newton's laws instead of plain text.

  • Adapt to student progress in real-time. Your system should detect when a learner is struggling and automatically offer hints, practice, or alternative explanations.

Example: A quiz app that recognizes a student's weak areas and automatically generates new practice problems to help them improve.

  • Personalize the experience. The AI should act like a dedicated teacher that understands the individual, not just a tool that gives "one-size-fits-all" answers.

Example: A math coach that tracks a student's mistakes across multiple sessions and tailors new exercises specifically for their long-term improvement.

Requirements

💡 What to Build

Your project must be an AI-powered EdTech solution that goes beyond a simple chatbot. The goal is to create a dynamic learning companion.

Focus on building a system that is:

  • Engaging: Uses voice, visuals, animations, or interactive simulations, not just plain text.

  • Adaptive: Detects when a student is struggling and offers real-time hints, practice, or different explanations.

  • Personalized: Acts like a dedicated teacher that tracks mistakes and tailors exercises for long-term improvement.

✅ What Judges Want to See
  • Creative applications of AI that solve real classroom or self-study problems.

  • Engaging systems using voice, visuals, or simulations.

  • AI tutors that adapt to a student's knowledge gaps.

  • Projects with measurable benefits (e.g., better retention, more practice).

  • Original, visionary solutions for the future of education.

❌ What to Avoid

Judges will not give high scores to:

  • Basic chatbot wrappers that just call an API.

  • Q&A systems that only give answers without teaching.

  • Generic AI assistants with no educational depth.

  • Copy-paste integrations of existing tools.

  • Static content with no feedback or interactivity.

📦 What to Submit

Your team must submit your complete project before 6 PM on November 1st via Devpost. No late submissions will be accepted.

Your submission package must include three items:

  1. A Public GitHub Repo: This must have your commit history and a well-documented README.txt file.

  2. A Demo Video: The video should be 5 to 7 minutes long.

  3. A Working Demo Link: A live, deployed link to your project.

Additionally, all teams must prepare a pitch deck (slides) for the presentation. The top 10 teams selected for Day 2 will use this deck for their final presentation.
